In building up a year's supply, let's start small. Sort of. I want to get there quickly and cheaply. And yummily. So, we will start with just breakfast. But let's do 4 months of breakfast.
That should be pretty easy. If you just want to eat one thing for breakfast always, just get a four months supply of your favorite breakfast. For some variety, I will come up with 7 breakfasts. 7 breakfasts, 16 weeks.
1. Oatmeal --Easy. We need 4 servings for one day at my house (4 people). Then there are 16 weeks. 4X16=64. A serving is 1/2 cup. So we need 32 cups.
Toppings--I do peanut butter. My husband does brown sugar. 1 tsp would be good per bowl. So he needs 16 tsp. 3 tsp in one T. So, we will round to 6 T.
The kids and I will do peanut butter. 1T each. So, 3T per day. 3X16=48 T. Works great. 16 T per cup, so 3 cups of peanut butter. Or, if just going by the jar (2T is a serving), that would be 24 servings.
Powdered milk. 1/3 cup dry milk makes 1 cup prepared. So, each of us would need a cup. 1 1/3 cup needed per day. 1 1/3 X16=ok need to do this one on calculator. Ok, about 22 cups.

So, breakfast needs for day 1 (for 4 months):
                    1. 32 cups of oatmeal. Or, 64 servings.
                    2. 6 T brown sugar
                    3. 3 cups peanut butter. Or, 24 servings
                    4. 22 cups powdered milk.
                    5. 32 cups applesauce
And actually, let's add in a fruit. Gotta balance all of this! Applesaue. 1/2 cup is a serving. That would be 2 cups per day for us, so 32 cups of applesauce.
